Tribes and businesses flock to summit

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, 2002 About 1,500 tribal leaders, Indian entrepreneurs and business representatives are attending the Bureau of Indian Affairs National Summit on Emerging Tribal Economies this week in Phoenix, Arizona. Secretary of Interior Gale Norton gave the keynote address. She said business deals were being made at the event. Assistant Secretary Neal McCaleb gives an address today.
