Freeh former FBI director to testify
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 8, 2002

Former FBI director Louis Freeh will testify before Congress today on terrorism and the September 11 terrorist attacks.

Critics of the beleaguered agency believe the FBI faltered prior to the attacks and failed to share information about suspected terrorists. They say Freeh failed to change the FBI to respond to emerging threats.

Freeh left in June 2001. He is an ardent foe of convicted American Indian Movement activist Leonard Peltier.

Today's hearing is before the House and Senate intelligence committees. It is open to the public but there is no Internet audio feed.
