A federal judge won't allow the United Band of Keetoowahs to intervene in lawsuit over the Arkansas River bed.

The tribe said its interests weren't being represented by the Cherokee, Choctaw and Chickasaw nations. The judge said the challenge was too late and could derail legislation to settle the case.

If the settlement is approved, the Cherokee Nation would get $25 million million. The Choctaw Nation would get $18.75 million and the Chickasaw Nation would get $6.25 million for their rights to the river bed.
