Italians in Maine are offended by a campaign ad that criticizes a gubernatorial candidate for changing his mind on an Indian casino.

Italians say Independent candidate Jonathan Carter's television spot using ethnic stereotypes. The 30-second commercial targets Democrat John Baldacci, who is Italian.

If he flipped he can flop, bada-bing bada-boom, know what I mean?" the ad states, according to The Portland Press Herald. "We ain't gonna be Vegas or Jersey. Not now, not ever. Never. In other words, fuhgedaboudit"

According to the ad, Baldacci supported plans for an Indian casino a decade ago. Now, he opposes the idea.

"I just find it offensive," Irene D'Angelo, the president of an Italian Heritage Club, told the paper. "I find it scandalous and offensive. . . . What is bada-bing bada-boom?"
