Congress to return for lame duck session

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 17, 2002 Both chambers of Congress agreed on Wednesday to return to session after the elections in order to pass the federal government's appropriations bills. The House and Senate approved what is called a "continuing resolution." It allows funding to flow at current levels until the new budget is passed. Congress has passed just one appropriations bill covering defense and military spending. Get the Story:
