Athabaskan teen succumbs to cancer

A young resident of an Athabaskan village in Alaska died of cancer on Tuesday night.

Roland Smoke of Stevens Village was 14. He was diagnosed with lymphoblastic lymphoma when he was 11. He loved basketball and country music -- George Jones and Hank Williams were his favorites, according to The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner.
