Washoe tribal members oppose chairman

MONDAY, OCTOBER 21, 2002 Some members of the Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California plan to protest the Nevada Day Parade on Saturday. The Affiliated Obsidian Nation, as the opposition is known, challenges the authority of chairman Brian Wallace. The members accuse Wallace of corruption. Wallace is one of four tribal grand marshals for the parade. The theme is "Nevada Is Indian Territory." Get the Story:
