New. Wash tribe seeks agreement

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2002 The recently recognized Cowlitz Tribe of Washington is working on a memorandum of understanding with a local county. The agreement will address the tribe's government-to-government relationship with Clark County. The tribe hopes to cover taxes, infrastructure and other issues. The tribe was recognized by the Clinton administration. It is seeking a 152-acre reservation to be put into trust. Get the Story:
