WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2002 The three candidates for governor of Oklahoma have not ruled out eliminating the tribal monopoly on Class II gaming, The Daily Oklahoman reports. Democrat Brad Henry said he wants race tracks to be on a "level playing field" with tribes. The race tracks have suffered with the expansion of tribal gaming. Independent Gary Richardson wants to put the issue to state voters. "That's the type of thing I think the people of Oklahoma should have a voice in," he told the paper. Republican Steve Largent, a former Congressman, said he does not favor an expansion of gaming beyond Indian casinos. But he said the issue was open to discussion. Class III gaming is outlawed in Oklahoma. Get the Story:
