Man kept track of 'thousands' of graves

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 30, 2002 A Native American construction worker kept track of "thousands" of potential Indian burial sites, his daughter told the Rhode Island Archaeological Society. Nancy Brown-Garcia is a deputy tribal historic preservation officer for the Narragansett Tribe. She said her father, who is 77, recorded the sites during his 50 years of work because construction crews would ignore them.
