Janklow captures U.S. House seat

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 2002

South Dakota Governor Bill Janklow (R) defeated Democratic challenger Stephanie Herseth for the state's sole U.S. House seat.

With 85 percent of the precincts reporting, Janklow had 54 percent of the vote compared to Herseth's 45 percent.
