House Minority Leader Dick Gephardt (D-Missouri) plans to announce today he will not seek the House leadership post again.

Gephardt steps down in the wake of the Republican Party's historic election night win. The GOP recaptured the Senate and gained at least four seats in the House.

Speculation is now about Gephardt's possible 2004 presidential run.
