Ariz. governor race finally settled

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 2002 Arizona's close governor race has been settled. Democrat Janet Napolitano accepted victory after Republican Matt Salmon conceded. There are still about 11,000 votes to be counted. Napolitano leads by 11,000. Napolitano has supported the tribal gaming agreements negotiated by outgoing Gov. Jane Hull (R). After a federal court said the old compacts were invalid, Napolitano did not move to close tribal casinos. Get the Story:
