Yellow Bird: Worry about GOP control

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 2002

"The crowing from the Republicans' sweep of Congress is at a high pitch in my area. The Grand Old Party is in control and seems to have plans. I worry.

Here is why: I can accept the fact that President Bush is a charismatic and popular man who has climbed the learning and experience curve and seems to be doing well.

So there is some confidence in this administration, but I have this vision of a pied piper with a war flute - a hypnotic and melodic sound coming from it - dancing on his toes down the street toward darkness with the nation following. War is never a good place to lead the innocent. . ."
