A $20 million grant has been awarded to the Indian Land Tenure Foundation to help protect the Indian land base.

The money will help educate individual landowners about ownership and management practices. It is believed to be the largest awarded to an Indian organization.

The Northwest Area Foundation grant will last for 10 years.
