The Nisqually Tribe of Washington celebrated the restoration of 31 acres of wetlands on Friday.

Tribal members removed dikes that were keeping the salt marsh dry. The goal is to bring back the chinook salmon.

The site was part of a $2.3 million land purchase. The tribe used a $177,000 salmon-recovery grant from the state to restore the land.
