The Sioux Falls Argus Leader praises the Sisseton-Wahpeton College on the Lake Traverse Reservation in South Dakota for taking steps to rebuild its nursing program.

The South Dakota Board of Nursing told the school's program to close because students who graduate haven't been meeting state standards. The school will develop a licensed practical nurse program as it moves to a four-year system in hopes of reviving the full nursing degree.

"No one wanted to see that program close," the paper says. "If it can be rebuilt, the graduates will benefit all of South Dakota."
