Conn. tribes sponsoring U.N. conference

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 22, 2002 Three Connecticut tribes are helping sponsor the 2004 International Children's Conference on the Environment. The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, the Mohegan Tribe and the Eastern Pequot Tribe will welcome more than 1,000 children from more than 100 countries to southeastern Connecticut in July 2004. The attendees will confront environmental challenges facing the world. The United Nations Environmental Programs conducts the conference. Get the Story:
