Choctaw educator receives state award

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 6, 2002 Joy Culbreath, the education director of the Choctaw Nation, was given a special awarded by the Oklahoma state regents on Thursday. Culbreath was given the "Champion of Student Success" award for helping tribal members obtain financial aid for college. The number of eligible students has grown from 400 in 1998 to 2,300 today.
