MONDAY, DECEMBER 9, 2002

Members of the Colorado River Indian Tribes of Arizona voted three council members out of office who were among the most supportive of the tribes' costly but unsuccessful Indian gaming initiative.

Russell Welsh was the only incumbent to survive the rout while three others were ousted. The tribes spent $10.3 million of its own money on Proposition 200, which was rejected by state voters by a large margin.
