Navajo Nation receives diabetes grants

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 12, 2002

The Navajo Nation will receive $12 million in grants to combat diabetes.

The money comes from the Special Diabetes Program, a Congressionally-funded initiative that was renewed last month. The Bush administration is distributing $100 million from now and June 2003 to tribes, Indian organizations and Alaska Natives.
