THURSDAY, DECEMBER 19, 2002

A vote to repeal a law that paved the way for Indian gaming in Connecticut has been put off until early next year.

Lawmakers started a special session yesterday but the focus is on the state's deficit. Republicans want to repeal the "Vegas Nights" law to prevent the spread of casinos.

Minority lawmakers say they will fight the anti-casino campaign. Legal experts say repealing the law might not stop Indian gaming.
