The announcement by a racist church that it plans to relocate to a city near the Wind River Reservation of Wyoming has bonded Indians and non-Indians against a white supremacist group.

But Indian residents say the issue of racism has never gone away. While business owners are putting up "no hate" signs on their store fronts, some remember when they used to say "No Indians allowed."

Still, the move by the World Church of the Creator to Riverton has drawn unanimous outrage from city officials and those who reside on the reservation. "Even people who are prejudiced against Indians are afraid of these guys," Shelley Garvin, director of human resources for the Eastern Shoshone Tribe, told The Denver Post.

Riverton was carved out of land that was part of the reservation, which is home to the Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho tribes.
