Four bills are being pushed in the Nebraska Legislature in hopes of expanding gaming in the state.

State Sens. DiAnna Schimek and Chris Beutler are sponsoring a constitutional amendment to allow tribes to open up to five casinos within two miles of a "border zone," which is defined as a border with a state where gaming is allowed. Sen. Ed Schrock's proposal allows up to 13 casinos, including eight within a six-mile border zone.

Sen. Ray Janssen's measure simply legalizes casino gambling statewide then leaves the details to the Legislature. A fourth proposal authorizes electronic pickle card games.
