Non-Indian farmers oppose tribal authority

TUESDAY, JANUARY 21, 2003 Non-Indian farmers on two Nebraska reservations are opposing tribal efforts to take over pesticide control from the federal government. The Winnebago Tribe and the Omaha Tribe are moving forward with plans to assume authority over pesticides, which is currently handled by the Environmental Protection Agency. But non-Indian farmers say they shouldn't have to listen to the tribes. Get the Story:
