A group of Salish and Kootenai descendants who lobbied to expand the membership of the Flathead Nation of Montana warns that the tribes will disappear unless enrollment requirements are changed.

A study the tribal government prepared predicted a drop-off in enrollment because of the quarter blood quantum requirement. It also said enrollment would double had tribal members voted to change the membership criteria.
