Kiowa Tribe told to shape up . . . by BIA

The Bureau of Indian Affairs has given the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma to clean up its affairs within 45 days or lose control of three federally funded programs.

The tribe contracts education, civil services and child welfare programs from the BIA. But the agency says the tribe has not managed them properly.
