Senate budget bill funds Lummi cultural center

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 3, 2003 The Senate's version of the 2003 budget bill includes $100,000 to fund a cultural center for the Lummi Tribe of Washington. The money was appropriated to make up for the disturbance of bones on traditional Lummi land. To settle the dispute, the tribe received land from the city of Blaine. The money will to create the Semiahmah Memorial and Coast Salish Heritage Park. Get the Story:
