Discussions sought to resolve tribal tax issue

The Navajo Nation's new attorney general says the tribe is hoping to resolve a tax dispute with the state of New Mexico.

The tribe sought to impose a tax on highway contractors working for the state. The project in question runs through tribal land but the N.M. attorney general in a legal opinion said the tax was not lawful.
