THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 6, 2003

Biologists have recorded elevated levels of stress hormones in bison in Yellowstone National Park, according to The Washington Post.

The stress comes from snowmobile riders in the park. The Clinton administration moved to ban them but Secretary of Interior Gale Norton reversed the decision and has imposed limits on their use.

The bison in the park are the descendants of the last free-roaming herd in the country.
