The Tsilhquot'in Nation of British Columbia, Canada, plans to issue its own firearms licenses.

The band says the move is intended to counteract the federal government's gun registry program, which has been opposed by rural Aboriginals. Chief Ervin Charleyboy says band members don't trust the government.
