Alaska Natives seek development alternatives

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 2003 Alaska Native village leaders have formed a new group, Alaska Native Oil and Gas Working Group, to seek alternatives to development. The group, organized under the auspices of the Indigenous Environmental Network, also will speak out against the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act. The leaders say there needs to be a dialogue on the health and environmental effects of drilling. Get the Story:
