Popular British comic aims to offend everyone

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 20, 2003 The opening joke in the new HBO show by British comic Ali G is about "da Native people." But the cultural phenomenon isn't worried that he might offend some. "There is racialism all over," he tells The Washington Post. "Tell me, you think this is going to get a lot of controversy? Will they come after me with their bows and arrows?" Ali G, also known as Sacha Baron Cohen, has drawn controversy in England for his less than politically correct statements. His comedy show premieres tomorrow. Get the Story:
