"Duh" is the only word to describe a study that confirms disparate treatment of Native Americans in South Dakota's justice system, The Sioux Falls Argus Leader says in an editorial today.

Taking to task a researcher for the state who initially balked at the term "disparity," the paper says its time to end debate over words and fix the system. "It isn't enough to know that Native Americans receive stiffer prison sentences than whites," the paper says. "We already know that. We also need to know what leads to those stiffer sentences."
