Bobby Madritsch didn't know much about his Lakota heritage growing up but he hopes to become a role model to young Indians everywhere.

Madritsch, a prospect for the Seattle Mariners, pays tribute to his heritage in tattoos. A left-handed pitcher, he has "Lakota" on his left forearm, a dream catcher on his left bicep, a medicine wheel on his neck and a peach symbol on his chest.

Madritsch was a sixth-round draft for the Cincinnati Reds in 1998 but was unable to play for two seasons due to surgery.
