Idaho tribal tax proposal defeated by committee

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 27, 2003 Idaho tribes scored another victory on Wednesday with the defeat of a bill to tax cigarette sales on reservations. All tribes in the state opposed the proposal. But Gov. Dirk Kempthorne wants to try some sort of compromise, The Idaho Statesman reported. Get the Story:
