The family of a Cheyenne River Sioux tribal member who was found dead under mysterious circumstances at West Point Military Academy in New York isn't satisfied with the Army's handling of the case.

Sgt. Alan Two Crow, a military policeman, was last seen alive on July 16. The family says military officials repeatedly said he must have voluntarily quit the Army even though he had a positive record and was recently named Soldier of the Month.

The family also faults the military for not treating the case seriously and for failing to find Two Crow's body. It took three civilians, including a former military policeman, less than two hours to locate him last September. Military officials had spent two months looking.

But even after that, the family accuses the military of botching the investigation. They point out inconsistencies of the autopsy and say the official explanation of an accidental death doesn't fit. Yet they wonder who might have killed Two Crow.
