The Tanana Chiefs Conference annual convention begins in Fairbanks, Alaska, today.

The theme is "Building our Foundation on Tribal Wellness." Creating healthy communities, the state's new budget, economic development, education and infrastructure are high on the agenda.

TCC represents 43 Native villages.
