N.Y. county considers casino pact with Modoc Tribe

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 12, 2003 Some Ulster County, New York, lawmakers are accusing an attorney for the Modoc Tribe of Oklahoma of trying to bully them into approve a casino deal with the tribe. The lawmakers, mostly Democrats, say the attorney threatened litigation and implied that county residents were poor. The tribe has an option on 225 acres of farm land. Get the Story:
