A Republican state lawmaker in Wisconsin is warning colleagues that their opposition to new tribal gaming deals could turn racial.

Rep. Terry Musser was the lone Assembly member who voted against a bill, in committee, on Monday to limit the terms of casino compacts. A Senate committee approved the same bill yesterday.

Debate on the Assembly floor is expected today. Gov. Jim Doyle, a Democrat, has promised to veto the bill, just as he did with a similar bill that Republicans pushed forward.
