Slaughtered bison sent to tribes and food banks

Meat from bison slaughtered in Yellowstone National Park is being distributed to tribal organizations, food banks, schools and other groups.

A reported 231 were killed last week at the hands of Montana livestock officials. The bison are sent to slaughter for fear of transmitting a deadly disease to cattle.
