Montana tribal officials met with proponents of a gaming project on Wednesday, The Billings Gazette reports.

Developers hope to allow full-scale gaming in in a special entertainment district. If that happens, tribes could seek expanded gaming, observers say.

A bill to authorize the expansion is expected to be introduced on Monday. State Rep. John Witt, a Republican from Carter, said he will sponsor it.
