Va. congressman in hot water for Jewish remarks

THURSDAY, MARCH 13, 2003 A Democratic congressman who is pushing for the federal recognition of several tribes in Virginia is under fire for linking support for the war on Iraq on influence of Jewish organizations. Rep. Jim Moran (D-Va.) has apologized for his remarks but some are calling him to resign. He introduced a bill to extend recognition to the Virginia tribes, which are some of the oldest state-recognized tribes in the country. Get the Story:
