Alaska Native leaders at the Tanana Chiefs Conference annual convention sought support from the Murkowski administration.

Gov. Frank Murkowski (R) was supposed to attend but couldn't. So Lt. Gov. Loren Leman spoke in his place.

Delegates asked Leman to improve tribal consultation, according to The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner.
