Navajo Nation suffers from explosive crime rate

Violent crime on the Navajo Nation is six times higher than the national average, according to The Arizona Republic.

In some parts of the three-state reservation, it's even higher. A federal prosecutor says most violent crimes are linked to alcohol.

Indian Country at large suffers a high rate of violence, according to Department of Justice statistics.
