A California city is being sued for allegedly failing to protect a Yurok village and burial site.

John Frame, a resident, and the Tsurai Ancestral Society, a non-profit organization, say the city of Trinidad should transfer the site to the Yurok Tribe. The tribe does not appear to be involved in the litigation.

A judge recently said Frame don't have a right to sue under a settlement agreement but said the society can sue under a conservation easement.
