Pipe being returned to Shakopee Tribe

THURSDAY, MARCH 27, 2003 A clay pipe believed to have belonged to Chief Little Crow of the Dakota Nation is being returned to the Shakopee Mdewakanton Tribe of Minnesota. The pipe is currently in the possession of an auction house in Boston. It was to be auction from the collection of a museum in Long Island, New York. Purchased for $350, a curator at the auction house will give it to the American Indian College Fund, which will return it to the tribe. Get the Story:
