Mont. tribes don't testify at gaming hearing

FRIDAY, MARCH 28, 2003 A Montana House committee held a hearing on Thursday to address a proposal to create a special entertainment and casino district. HB757 calls for the creation of 10 casinos. Developers want tribes to help operate an 11th -- if tribes agree to forfeit Class III gaming rights on their lands. No tribal representatives appeared at the hearing, The Billings Gazette reported. The offer to tribes has not been accepted, said a developer. Get the Story:
