Ariz. tribe donating money for diabetes research

FRIDAY, MARCH 28, 2003 The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community of Arizona is donating $5 million to help fund diabetes research. The money will be given to the city of Phoenix, which will funnel it to the International Genomics Consortium's Translational Genomics Research Institute, or TGen. Pima people suffer one of the highest rates of diabetes in the world. Get the Story:
