Wash. tribes support salmon recovery plan

Three Washington tribes are supporting a state salmon recovery plan.

The state wants farmers in Skagit Valley to make sure salmon can pass through tide gates. But the farmers don't want to open the tide gates for fear saltwater will hurt their fields.

To combat the proposal, the farmers are turning to the state Legislature. But the Skagit, Swinomish and Sauk-Suiattle tribes, who depend on the salmon, warn that those efforts could force them to take legal action.
